Step 1: Put milk, cornstarch, and sugar into a pot together (note: put them in first before turning on the low heat!). Heat over low heat, and keep stirring in one direction with a spoon until the mixture becomes thick. The whole process takes about 4-5 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare a rectangular tray, coat the inner wall of the tray with a layer of oil, pour the cooked milk paste into it while it’s hot, and shape it with a spoon to make the surface smooth without any pits.
Step 3: Put it in the refrigerator to chill for two hours.
Step 4: After it solidifies, pour the milk paste out of the tray and cut it into small rectangular pieces.
Step 5: Beat an egg, dip the cut milk pieces into the egg liquid to coat them evenly, then roll them in breadcrumbs. Put them into a pot of oil to fry. When the oil is 60% hot, turn to medium-low heat and fry until the surface turns golden. Then you can plate it.
